Tigger
Tigger was gathered in July of 2022 by Rail Lazy H from the Apache National Forest in Arizona. He was in holding for 30 days prior to the in-person sale on August 10, 2022, where he was purchased by the Salt River Wildhorse Management Group.
Tigger was given to Rail Lazy H by the Salt River Wildhorse Management Group along with another horse we named Rue so that we could provide them both a home and be placed into our training program through our 501c3 non-profit “Wild Horse Transition Team”.
Our goal is to have Tigger at our next in-person auction to showcase the endless potential of the unhandled horse given the right opportunity.
We are hopeful that you will enjoy the slide show which shows Tigger’s journey from living on the landscape to becoming one of our cherished partners for our trainer, Karl Eklof, and all of us here at Rail Lazy H.

Artax and Scout
In August of 2022, I attended the first auction of Alpine Horses that had be gathered. At the conclusion of the auction, there were two horses that nobody seemed to want. I expressed interest to Jackie and she recommended the two year old bay colt, as he seemed quite gentle. I purchased the horse and Jackie was kind enough to hold him for me, and I had a trainer, Karl, work with him. My girls named him Artax, from the movie The Never Ending Story. In November of 2022, I bid on a yearling filly and won the bid. Jackie also held her for me as I was looking for a good boarding location near me. My girls named her Scout, from the book, To Kill a Mockingbird. In April of 2023, I was able to get them moved close to me. Scout had never been handled, and I must say, she was a wild one. It took some time to get a rope on her and get her haltered. It wasn’t the easiest process, but now, when I bring the halter to her, she practically puts it on herself. Both have been saddled numerous times, but not ridden since I got them in my possession. I have added some photos and you will be able to see what patience, love, and kindness can do. I am not by any stretch of imagination, an expert trainer. In High School (a very long time ago) I trained Welch Ponies for children to ride. It was a grand experience, and my experience with my Alpine horses has been a healing blessing for me.
